Gratitude To Myself

Thankfulness is the beginning of gratitude. Gratitude is the completion off thankfulness. Thankfulness may consist merely of words. Gratitude is shown in acts.
— Henri Frederic Amiel

Gratitude is not only the greatest of virtues, but the parent of all others.
— Marcus Tullius Cicero

It's a subject we never speak about, something very personal and yet everything we live is influenced by this sentiment.

Gratitude to ourselves reflects on our own bodies & our relationships. It shows on the way we walk and move our bodies, the way we sit, how we stand in a group of people and how we treat ourselves.

But how do we start? Gratitude is about loving and forgiving your true self, about understanding you. It is not easy to accomplish it, as for doing it you must relive your past, face memories that can wound you, your pride, even cause you pain basically that's why we bury them deep inside our brains. You will hurt your own ego but that will make you accept your past and when you have failed it could leave you a sensation of been tormented and having to work on your own person in many ways.

Realization is the first step if you want to switch mentality or personality, identifying what you need to change.

One way to start the process is by talking to the people that were involved in that event or part of your life, if those people are no longer among us you have to talk to someone about it, let it go, cry if you want and that won't be a sign of weakness, quite the opposite. By thanking them or even disagreeing with them, burying our own beliefs in our mind doesn't help in any way. There are people such as myself that guide ourselves and take every decision in our life's based on our feelings. And there is also the opposite to that.

Dig deep within yourself, for there is a fountain of goodness ever ready to flow if you will keep digging.
— Marcus Aurelius

After that is thanking the universe for your own beliefs of letting us become who we are, from giving us a chance to write our wrongs and becoming stronger in both in soul, body & mind.

Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity. It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend.
— Melody Beattie
